Universal Music Singapore is releasing a 5cd boxset of 1960s Singapore songs today! 5 cds! 100 songs! All from the Phillips label, which was one of the more illustrious labels in the 1960s local music scene.
I’ll be buying my copy over the weekend, and will share some of my favourite tracks here.
And because I’ve been so excited about this, I’ve been telling everyone who may be vaguely interested – two songs from the boxset are from my very own vinyl copy! I can’t wait to hear them digitised on cd. =) They were taken from my copy of Stevie Lorraine and the Clansmen.
(Actually I was so keyed up about the cd, I tried buying it during lunch, but sadly the nearest cd shop to my workplace didn’t stock them. So the weekend it is.)
